Providing food and money to very poor in south. Generally helps financially dependant people become independent with a high success rate. Tamara Kaplan is collecting funds, be in touch if you want to donate.

Elef l'Mateh was started by Rav Kook in the last Lebanon war, as a way of helping out chayalim.

The chayal or their family call in to give the name, and people who are interested in davening/tehillim/whatever for the z'chut of a chayal can get a name of an individual chayal.

The number is 02-58 11 911

My project of sending ready-prepared meals to Sderot each week continues as usual and has been expanded to other cities in the south of the country at this difficult time.

I have just returned from Sderot, Be'er Sheva and Ashkelon and give my grateful thanks to all those - both friends and strangers- who brought wonderful donations to my apartment since the start of this current war. The people of the south are truly appreciative.

Anyone wanting to donate money, food, clothes, toiletries, books and games or anything else is welcome to contact me (054.536.6440 or [email protected]) for details and to arrange a time to drop donations at my home in Katamon and I will arrange to get them to the south. Anyone wanting to mail checks/money may contact me for an address.

With the situation in the south expanding to more and more communities
each day, the OneFamily Fund is working hard to help the families in
these communities – and you can join in the effort.

OneFamily will be providing games, toys, snacks, and toiletry items for
families caught in shelters in southern Israel.

Donations to help cover the cost can be made to the OneFamily Fund, and
sent to our office in Jerusalem. NIS 200 will cover the cost of a
complete package. Donations can be made in honor of, or in memory of
someone, and cards will be sent to acknowledge the donation.

If you would like to contribute actual items to these packages, we are
looking for board games, card games, balls, books (in Hebrew or picture
books), packages of non-perishable snack items (bamba, bisli, etc.),
stuffed animals, and any kind of activity for kids stuck in the
shelters. Items can be dropped off at the OneFamily Center in Jerusalem,
28 Rachel Imenu, in the Katamon neighborhood, or they can be picked up.
To arrange pick up of items, please call OneFamily at 539-9000 and speak
to Dina (Hebrew) or Yehuda (English), or you can email OneFamily at
[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>

We are also arranging places to stay for families from the South who are
leaving their homes during the attacks. If you would like to host a
family, or if you would like to volunteer on the phone hotline, please
contact us at the above numbers or email address.

MISHMERET YESHA:

As you may already have heard, the head of Hamas in Damascus has officially proclaimed the current conflict the "Third Intifada". The roads in Yehuda and Shomron are being rocketed and land mined. The IDF security coordinators have warned Mishmeret Yesha leaders of intelligence for a possible 60 terrorist attacks. The mainstream media will not inform you of explosions on the roads of Yesha due to a chronic case of political correctness.

The IDF Army Corps of Engineers Unit has placed an emergency request to Mishmeret Yesha for special bulletproof vests for the Caterpillar operators that have to enter Gaza FIRST. They are the ones on the forefront of the whole Gaza operation. Mishmeret Yesha has received a number of emergency requests for Medic and other bulletproof vests.

WE URGE ALL SUPPORTERS OF ERETZ YISROEL TO COME TOGETHER AND SUPPORT THE SAFETY OF ISRAEL'S CITIZENS AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, OUR LIVES. WE ASK YOU HOLD EMERGENCY COMMUNITY MEETINGS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR MISHMERET YESHA'S EFFORTS.

Some possibilities include a live phone conference with Mr. Danziger for an event, or even a personal visit just for the cost of paying his airfare to your community.

Mr. Danziger can be reached in Israel at
011-972-52-468- 9991 Mobile
011-972-2-624- 6885 Fax

Mr. Danziger's e-mail address is [email protected], but there's no telling when he'll be able to get to his e-mail. He often crawls into bed, exhausted after long, grueling days of handling emergency situations for Yesha's residents. As he always says: "The type of stuff we have to deal with in a day, some people don't deal with in their lifetime."

As the US Representative of Mishmeret Yesha, I can be reached at (650) 992-0512 or alex(at)clubmaoz. org. I will mail/e-mail you all the materials about Mishmeret Yesha's history and current projects (help with designing a website is desperately needed as well).

The donations can be mailed to
Mishmeret Yesha
25 King George Blvd
Jerusalem 94261
or to
PO Box 100566
Brooklyn NY 11210–9997

Some emergency basic needs:
$32,000 for water packs for Medic Vests
$250 each ceramic plates to insert into the vests that are ready to go, but are just awaiting the plate insertion.

Each vest needs two plates: front and back.

Please make your checks payable to Central Fund of Israel with a memo "Mishmeret Yesha." For credit card donations, a Paypal account has just been set-up and the link will be available in 3-5 working days.

Yeshivat Bney Chayil in Jerusalem will be running the same successful kaytana program that they ran during the Lebanon war for children in grades 4-6.

The program will be run by volunteer madrichim and the children will sleep and eat in the school, in order to keep the costs down and serve as many children as possible.

The aim of the program is to provide the kids that are being bombed on a daily basis with a safe place to stay, a really fun program and trauma therapy as well.

There is already a waiting list for the program which will start this Sunday, January 4, but tax deductible donations are needed to help offset the costs.
No special skills are necessary, you don't even need to know much hebrew to help out (a warm smile and a warm Jewish heart is the best communication!) contact [email protected] to volunteer for this ongoing program--they'll continue as long as necessary, but we should have Moshiach already!
