In general, I will try to only post restaurants and cafes at which I have personally eaten or that are known to be kosher. However, this site should NOT come in place of a checking for an updated teudat kashrut.
* Ticho House
On Rechov Harav Kook, right next to the Psalm Museum. Apparently they have jazz and wine on Tuesdays.
* Bowling in Kanyon Yisrael
In Talpiyot on Rechov Yad Hacharutzim.
One married replier commented: "...and you can check if the date is clumsy." His words, not mine. :)
They have billiards and arcades there as well.
* Tayelet Hass (East Talpiyot)
Beautiful, quiet area with gorgeous view of Har Habayit (...and several Arab neighborhoods).
[I think the 21 and 8 buses get you pretty close.]
* Lifta
The ruins by the entrance to the city.
One responder: "You can walk or climb in them and it's a quiet, not crowded place. Pack a lunch."
* Botanical Gardens
* Rose Garden
* Gan Sacher
The "hotel lobby" of the dati-leumi dating crowd...
* Center of Town - Bezalel & Agripas
Ben Yehuda is usually crowded and noisy, but you can usually find quieter places to walk along Rehov Agripas (perpendicular to Yaffo, intersects with the shuk) and on Bezalel (there's a nice place to sit on Betzalel by the theater-type place).
* The Jerusalem Forest (Har Nof)
* The Science Museum at Hebrew U
For details check out: https://www.mada.org.il/geninfo/geninfo.html
Comment from a responder: "Make sure you go after school hours to avoid hordes."
Very limited hours, no evenings.
* The Kotel
Kind of cliche, but may be nice once in a while.
In addition, there are several nice, quiet restaurants (both dairy and meat) in the Cardo area. Dinner 'n' Davening anyone??
* Mini Israel
Not exactly in J-lem but also not too far.
The 433 and 435 pass right by; the 434/448 stop by Tzomet Lud, and from there it's about a 5-minute walk.
Pricey, but very cute and well-done. Bring a camera!!!
* T'mol Shilshom
A cute café in Merkaz Ha'ir with wall-to-wall books.
Not easy to find without good directions. Check out: https://www.tmol-shilshom.co.il/ .
* Kad V'chomer
Located next to the municipality (Kikar Safra). You make your own pottery and pick it up a week later. Needless to say this is only if you're fairly sure that there's going to be another date...
* Second Temple Model
Formerly in Bayit V'gan, now part of the Israel Museum.
* Malha Mall
Aside from the movie theatre, the mall has a nice food court and plenty of cute stores.
One responder wrote: "We also went one date to the Malha mall and went to look in toy stores to choose a game. On the next date we went to a hotel lobby (not a busy one) to play our game."
* Day Trip to Tel Aviv
"We also went on a day date to Tel Aviv. We got a map, walked the city (brought with us a picnic-planned in advance), and went to the Boardwalk, Dizingoff Center, Great Synagogue (for mincha) etc. We ate breakfast in J-lem before we left and had dinner on our return."
* The Biblical Zoo
https://www.jerusalemzoo.org.il/main/upload/.info/index.html
* The Jerusalem Theatre
Apparently they have a gallery there, and from there it's about a 5-minute walk to the restaurant strip on Emek Refaim.
* Tachana Hamerkazit Area (for dates coming from out of town)
- Cafe Ne'eman next to Zol L'mehadrin.
- Center 1 - Food court with Korus Al Ha'eish, pizza, and Chinese
* "Contests"
"For our first date, my husband took me slide-hopping. We went to different parks and playgrounds around the city, trying out and rating all the slides. Of course we ended at the Mifletzet in Kiryat Yovel!
We have smiliar dates now where we go try out and rate different things..."
