| Jerusalem Traffic Arrangements On Chol HaMoed Pesach

In preparation for Passover, the Jerusalem Municipality and the Israel Police are preparing for the arrival of hundreds of thousands of visitors to the capital.


The advanced Jerusalem transportation system is prepared with special service lines that will allow convenient access to all major destinations, and will operate during the intermediate days of Pesach - 20-25.04.2019. In addition, the light rail will operate at increased frequency.

Access to the Old City and the Western Wall will be possible only by public transport, and by light rail to the Damascus Gate and the IDF Square.

During the intermediate days of Passover, private vehicles will not be allowed into the Old City, except for local residents and a disabled vehicle. It should be noted that vehicles with a handicapped character will enter the Old City through the Zion Gate, coming from the direction of Hebron Road / David Remez only. Large vehicles will enter the Old City from the direction of Wadi Joz, to the Dung Gate.

The following routes will be closed to private vehicles on 21-24.04.1919 from 09:00 to 21:00:

· Derech Hevron - From Miriam HaHasmonait to the Old City

· Route 1 - From the Bar Lev-Levi Eshkol junction in the direction of the Old City

· Agron Street (Paris Square) - towards Mamilla

· Chativat Jerusalem - in both directions

· The Old City - will be closed to private vehicles, except for residents of the area and vehicles bearing a disabled character


Parking lots:

Visitors will have three parking lots at Pisgat Zeev, Ammunition Hill and Mount Herzl. Parking is free for those traveling by public transport.

The Western Wall can be reached on lines 1 and 3, which operate on Sunday and Wednesday from the Central Bus Station and the Ramat Shlomo, Neve Ya'akov, Ramot, Har Nof, Givat Shaul and Beit Vagan neighborhoods. 18:00, 19:00, 20:00 On the first day of the festival, the exit from the neighborhoods will be from 21:30 On Monday, the departure from the neighborhoods to Birkat Kohanim will be at 07:30 On Thursday the departure from the neighborhoods to the Song of Songs Parade will be at: 14:00.

Public service will be provided by a special service from the local parking lots in Kiryat Arba to the Cave of the Patriarchs, with the purchase of a round trip ticket only.

The public is asked to obey the directives of the police and municipal supervision. It should be noted that the enforcement will be increased and a vehicle parked in violation of the law will be towed.
