Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion: "Jerusalem is growing and with it, so are the needs for housing, public buildings and cultivation of public areas. The Hebron Road construction plan is part of the municipal policy for city development. We will continue to do our best for our residents. "

The Local Planning and Construction Committee, headed by Chief Minister Eliezer Rauchberger, approved two construction plans for Hebron Road.

The program will take place in the Talpiot neighborhood, close to the Talpiot industrial area, building upon the new Blue Line route of the light rail. Since 2013, there has been a plan for this area which approved the construction of 2 new 24-storey buildings, 2 new 12-storey buildings and a central public area that includes 276 housing units.

The plan also proposes to increase the number of floors in buildings facing Hebron Road to 30 floors, in accordance with the policy on the light rail axis, and an increase of 45 housing units to a total of 321 housing units with additional building areas.

In addition to this, there are plans for contruction west of Hebron Road, adding in two 30 storey towers for residential, commercial and business buildings, as well as hotels and public areas.
