Machon Dvir - the Dvir Institute - specializes in providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – an offshoot of cognitive behavior therapy that is highly effective in helping people with borderline and dependent personality disorders, complex-PTSD, severe depression, anxiety and OCD. We offer DBT in both gender-separate group and individual settings, together with medical management of complex cases.

Machon Dvir caters for young English-speaking adults and provides treatment for all aspects of emotion dysregulation, impulsive, addictive and self-harming behaviors, and dysregulated eating. By working closely with our clients’ referring clinicians, we can help to provide effective and timely intervention, facilitate communication with the family and the school, and continuity of care with treating physicians and therapists both in Israel and back home

The Institute’s team of highly qualified and experienced English-speaking therapists is led by Dr. Shmuel Harris MD, the current joint head of Psychiatry at Hadassah University Hospital - Mt. Scopus, and DBT expert Dr. Tzachi Fried PhD, together with Senior Clinician HeatherMoshel LCSW. Our team members have extensive experience with many English-speaking institutions including Yeshivot, Seminaries, Kollelim and schools throughout Jerusalem.
