Dr. Naftali Fish is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Hypnotherapist in Israel since 1989.

Based on extensive clinical experience and personal growth over the years, I have developed the unique and innovative Nachat Ruach Treatment Model, a Professional Torah-based approach to Psychotherapy (individual, marital and family) that utilizes Clinical Meditation and Hypnotherapy.

The Nachat Ruach approach has proven overtime  to consistently be an effective method to enhance Psychosocial-Spiritual Growth. It professionally integrates contemporary Western Psychology and Torah values and wisdom within the therapeutic process and relationship, as a means to help the client accomplish his/her treatment goals, while openly acknowledging that Hashem is the source of healing.

I am a well-known expert in Israel and abroad in a variety of clinical issues including: the treatment of addictions... substance abuse, gambling, eating disorders, and Internet and sexual addictions. I am also experienced in the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, and social phobias, as well as OCD, anger management, psychosomatic syndromes, healing of traumas and the “Inner Wounded Child,” building positive self-esteem and identity, and issues of baalei teshuva and “off the derech”.

I made Aliyah from the United States with my growing family and Israeli wife in 1984, after completing my Doctorate from Yeshiva University. I have maintained a full-time private practice in Jerusalem since 1990 and have been an senior lecturer in the Psychology department at Touro College in Israel since 1994. I am the author of two books that are based on my innovative clinical model that are entitled Nachas Ruach - Torah based psychology and tools for growth and healing as well as the  The Internet Challenge - Jewish Spirituality and Meditation to Maintain your Balance and Achieve Greater Serenity.

Book Review by the well known Rabbi Dr. Avraham Twersky

This important work by well-known therapist Dr. Naftali Fish offers a solid conceptual framework for understanding the relationship between Torah and psychology – including the Twelve Step program – showing clearly where they are compatible and where they are not. DrFish is uniquely qualified to bridge this gap, as an Orthodox Jew grounded in Torah Judaism and the wisdom of our sages, and as a licensed clinical psychologist, with over twenty-five years’ experience working with a variety of clinical issues, including the treatment of addictions and healing the inner wounded child. Here he presents the Nachas Ruach Treatment Model (NRTM), an innovative, effective approach that integrates Torah values and spirituality within the context of professional psychotherapy and hypnotherapy, as illustrated by intriguing case studies.

This book is a must-read for all professionals in the field of mental health, as well as for rabbis, educators, students studying psychology, and educated lay readers. Blending theory and practice, this book also provides practical tools and exercises for personal growth that anyone can gain from in their daily lives.

Jewish Spirituality to Maintain your Balance and Greater Serenity

Recommendation by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson

"There are certain aspects of psychological health and tranquility that can be attained by taking oneself out temporarily from the stresses of daily life. By withdrawing into seclusion for a short period of time while being in a serene meditative state, one can attain greater psychological health and peace of mind, that strengthens the individual and guards his mental health."
