 Are you over-insured?

⚠

Have you insured the same item in more than one company?  Generally speaking, you can only make one claim per insured item and paying for insurance to more than one company -- is money down the drain.

Millions of Israelis are over-insured.  To make sure that you aren't one of the millions, go to the Har HaBituach site here.  If you are insured twice, you will be notified with a white exclamation point in a red triangle.

The site above is in Hebrew.  If Hebrew is a problem, I suggest using the Simple Translate add-on in Firefox.  In Chrome, you can right click on a blank area on the web page and then choose Translate.

Note:  While researching Long Term Care insurance (Bituach Siudi) for one of my clients, I found out that Bituach Siudi is an exception to the over-insurance rule:  You can have more than one policy and get more than one payment to cover long term care. If you do not have Long Term Care with your Health Fund (Bituach Siudi with your Kupat Cholim), it's a good idea to check it out -- even if you have another Bituach Siudi policy.  All of the Health Funds now offer the same coverage for the same price.
