| Is a Katamon Construction Project About to Ruin the Neighborhood?

A complex of hi-rise apartment buildings reaching as tall as 16 stories is being planned for Jerusalem's Tchernichovsky Street, on the corner of Dov Kimche Street in Kiryat Shmuel/ Katamon.

Concerned citizens believe the project, which may also include a small shopping center, poses serious challenges for the neighborhood's parking and traffic infrastructure, which is already stretched far beyond capacity. There are also fears that the new buildings, which would be the first hi-rises in the neighborhood as local zoning laws are changed, could set dangerous new precedents for the entire area if not handled right.

The public is invited to a community meeting Monday night at HaPalmach 14 at 7:30 PM.
