The Mayor of Jerusalem and his wife, Mr and Mrs Moshe Lion will greet visitors

between 3:30 - 5:00 pm.

The museum is open to the public.  All are invited.


Entrance free after 12:00pm.

No advance registration required.

Extended opening hours until 5:30 pm.


The Tower of David Museum opens its door to the residents of Jerusalem, and visiting tourists on Jerusalem Day, June 2nd.  Visitors will be able to enjoy the spectacular views of Jerusalem, new and old, the permanent exhibition that tells the story of the city of Jerusalem as well as the new temporary exhibition The Mount, a photographic exhibition, which looks at the development of Temple Mount over the past 150 years.

"From Herod's Palace to British Prison"

From the Tower of David Museum to the Citadel and the Kishle


Tour of the Citadel complex focusing on the impressive archaeological remains from the glorious days of Jerusalem, and Herod's palace in the city.  From the towers, water pools, column bases, foundations of the palace and the Kishle Building - one of the most exciting, mysterious underground spaces at the Tower of David.

"The Mount" exhibit


Guided tour through the exhibit which showcases the story of Temple Mount. The tour the exhibition which showcases photos taken at the Temple Mount over the last 150 years, and tries to examine the reasons for the changes that have taken place there over time. Temple Mount today is the most religious and political, holy and important complex in the Middle East.

The exciting story of the Citadel and the capital city - Jerusalem, including the most unique, magical, panoramic view of the city.


The city's Citadel and the Museum of the History of Jerusalem are a gateway for encountering the places and the central events which occurred here.  The tour connects the city's unique qualities and the leaders and personalities who influenced Jerusalem's history.  All of these factors transformed the city into an important religious and cultural center.

Family Activity Booklet. Our National Emblem and Jerusalem's symbol


Enjoy the family activity booklet! Independent activities for families take place in the museum and focus on the elements which make up National Emblem and Jerusalem's symbol.  Discover how they came to represent the historical story of the nation and the city.


The permanent exhibition showing the history of Jerusalem will be open to the general public as will the new exhibition The Mount which traces the development of Temple Mount during the past 150 years through the lens of the camera.
