INTRODUCTORY SESSION ON MINDFULNESS AND MINDFUL EATING

I want to invite you to join me for this Introductory session on mindfulness and mindful eating that will take place tomorrow, Wednesday evening, in Rechavia.  

This is a great opportunity for you to acquaint (or re-acquaint) yourself with some of the many benefits of the practice of mindfulness and mindful eating.  

So many folks struggle with eating and their relationship with food.  Diet culture, the media, our personal histories and even the medical establishment contribute to so much confusion and anxiety around our food choices. We have become disconnected from our internal cues and don't trust our bodies to communicate its needs.  

Mindful eating offers a way out of the constant struggle you may have with food and eating.  Here we learn how to reconnect with our bodies by developing a sense of awareness around all aspects of the eating experience.  

There is much more to food than it's nutritional components and mindful eating helps connect you to all of it; nourishing yourself with food both physically and emotionally, all the while maintaining attitudes of curiosity, acceptance and self-compassion.  

The time:  6:30- 7:45
The place:  21 Ibn Shaprut (corner of 40 Ramban), Rechavia  (take the stairs on the right to the fourth floor)
The cost:  I am charging a fee of 50 shekels for this session.  If you sign up for my seven session course which starts the following week, I will deduct this from the price of the course.  
The attitude:  one of openness and curiosity

THE MINDFUL EATING COURSE :

The seven session course is a unique pairing of mindfulness practices and the principles of Intuitive Eating. 

The term “intuitive eating,” refers to the process of using internal cues rather than external rules to guide decisions about what, when and how much to eat.

Although intuitive eating may sound simple, it is not easy.  Most people find that their efforts to eat intuitively are met with a large array of obstacles, such as lifelong habitual eating patterns, preconceptions regarding “good and bad” foods and a chronic disconnect with their internal cues. 

By practicing mindfulness, we learn how to trust our body’s ability to guide us towards optimal health and well-being. 

In this course you will …:

- Connect to your senses in ways that awaken an increased enjoyment of food and eating.

- Become aware of your habitual patterns which result in unwanted, mindless eating. 

- Learn new ways to cope with stress and other emotions that drive food cravings and overeating.

- Tune in to the innate wisdom of your body in ways that promote health, vitality and general well being.    

- Cultivate a non-judgmental and compassionate attitude towards your body, your food choices and your eating behaviors.

 

My name is Laurie Duitch and I am a Clinical Nutritionist, Mindfulness and Mindful Eating Instructor.  Join me for this seven week exploration into the practices of mindfulness and mindful eating.  

 

Dates:  7 Wednesday evenings starting November 27th and ending January 15th 

Times:  6:00-8:00 p.m.
