| Jerusalem Municipality prepares for local council elections

Chaya V
Thursday, 10 January 2:41 PM

This year, the Jerusalem Municipality is preparing to hold elections for community councils, as reported to Kol Ha'Ir. The demand for elections in community administrations comes from the ultra-Orthodox parties in the Jerusalem City Council, and even arose in the coalition agreement signed by Degel Hatorah and Mayor Moshe Leon.

It should be noted that council elections, according to assessments by various parties in Safra Square, will lead to a change in the representation in Ramot and Kiryat Hayovel - the two largest mixed neighborhoods in the city. According to the same sources, the outgoing mayor, Nir Barkat, acted to prevent these changes.
