Israeli Paralympic swimmer Mark Malyar, 19, set a new world record for 1,500 meters Paralympic swimming – 19:27.26.
Malyar, from the Ilan Sport Center of Haifa, competed in the Wingate open competition and improved the record set in 2011 by almost 23 seconds.
Malyar, who has cerebral palsy and competes in category S7, won one silver and two bronze medals in the last European Para Swimming Championships.
