| Rabies Prevention in Jerusalem

To prevent the spread of rabies in the city and its effects on humans and animals, dog owners are required to adhere to the provisions of the Dog Control Regulation Act:

  • Any dog ​​/ cat over three months or over 12 months since his last vaccination must be vaccinated against rabies.
  • The dog owner will not allow the dog to leave his yard unless the dog is held by a man capable of controlling it, using a leash.

Veterinary Disease Prevention Operations:

Capture and extradite stray dogs and confiscate unvaccinated dogs every year as required by law.
Destroying dogs whose owners allow them to roam public areas and cannot be captured.

Providing Administrative Fines Under the Law for the Regulation of Dog Supervision:

Fines for having a dog without a rabies vaccine - NIS 1,500 and another NIS 150 for each additional day.
A fine for a dog being released on public property when not being held by a person - NIS 500.
