The 'Efrat' Talmud Torah in the Gush Etzion community of Elazar wishes to invite our Jewish brothers and sisters everywhere to join with us in a ground-floor investment opportunity. We started our Talmud Torah three years ago in a local synagogue and have grown from 20 children in one class to close to 90 in four classes as of this coming school year. We have not yet received official recognition by the Ministry of Education but hope that this will be forthcoming in the next year. In the meanwhile, although parents have taken upon themselves to keep this rapidly growing school afloat, we could use a little help from our friends. The 900,000 nis goal of the campaign includes a matching grant, such that if we can get to 450,000 nis , we will be able to reach our goal of keeping the sweet sound of Jewish boys learning Torah in Gush Etzion alive and well for many years to come.
We moved to Gush Etzion from the US just before the last intifada in 2000. Over the past 20 years, we have sent our children to a number of different schools in the area - and I can honestly say that the Efrat Talmud Torah is truly something special, truly something worth strengthening. Our son has tremendously enjoyed his growth there - but this goes beyond just our family. The fact that the school has jumped from 20 to 90 kids in just three years in truly a testament to it's success in reaching kids ''where they live'' and imbuing within them a love for Torah.
Thank You and Yaasher Koach
