The American Citizen Services appointment system is now operational!
Beginning June 18, 2007, we will no longer accept walk-ins, except in
certain situations mentioned below. Appointments can be scheduled by
going to our website
israel.usembassy.gov/consular/acs/index.aspx and following the
links.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your appointment to allow
time for security screening. All required forms are available on our
website and should be printed out and completed prior to your
arrival. If you need to fill out forms once you are here, you should
arrive much earlier than 30 minutes. Be sure to bring your original
documents, as well as 2 copies of all originals. It is very
important that you review our website for what is required for the
particular service you are requesting. If your application is
incomplete, you will have to reschedule another appointment and you
will not be given priority.
Applicants with DS-82 passport renewals do not need to appear
personally at the Embassy to renew their passport. Generally, DS-82
renewals apply to individuals whose most recent passports were issued
on or after their 16th birthdays, and less than 15 years ago. These
applicants should send their applications, along with their most
recent passport, by mail. Interviews are not required. If you
decide to appear at the Embassy for a DS-82 renewal, you will need to
make an appointment. There is currently not a box to click in the
appointment system that applies to DS-82 renewals, so please use the
box for renewals for a person over 18.
Appointments will not be required for reports of deaths. Genuine
emergency cases also will not require an appointment, although the
applicant must bring documentation to prove the emergency. Office
hours for these types of cases will remain 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.,
Monday through Friday. The American Citizen Services unit will
remain closed the last Friday of each month. We will also be closed
on Friday, June 15, for administrative purposes.
Fee amounts can be found on each service's website. If you choose to
pay in U.S. Dollars, please have the exact amount.
Please be aware that the Social Security/Federal Benefits Unit will
maintain its present schedule of public hours from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.,
Tuesday through Friday. They are closed on Monday. People seeking
service from this unit will not require appointments.
All questions about the new appointment system should be directed to
[email protected].
As the U.S. Government develops information on any potential security
threats to U.S. citizens overseas, it shares credible threat
information through its consular information program documents,
available on the Internet at travel.state.gov. For
emergencies after business hours and on weekends, U.S. citizens can
contact the Embassy Duty Officer via the Embassy switchboard at 03-
519-7551. The Embassy is located at 71 Hayarkon Street, Tel Aviv,
Israel 63903.
General information about Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza is
available at the Embassy's website
israel.usembassy.gov/publish/citserv.htm. The most recent
State Department Worldwide Caution Public Announcement, and Middle
East and North Africa Public Announcement contain additional security
information. These documents can be found at travel.state.gov
Finally, all residents of and visitors to Israel, the West Bank, and
Gaza are urged to register their presence via the Internet at
travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/home.asp to facilitate
communications.
