I recently became part of my building's vaad bayit, and I am responsible for ordering the oil (solar, in Hebrew) maintaining the building's heating.
I was told recently that running the heater 24/7 at a very low heat all winter long works out cheaper and more effective that the current system, in which we run it at mid-high- range heat for a few hours a day when it is cold out. To me that doesn't sound logical, but a few people said that seemed "obvious" to them.
Anyone with experience in this? Or a more general question, what's the most cost- effective way to run a building's heat?
