Thank you for all of your advice on my recent search for how to receive social security direct deposit in an Israel bank shekel account for free. Many of you requested I send you what I learn, so please read below for the details.

If you are a US Senior Citizen living in Israel and want to receive your monthly social security payment in Shekels to your Israeli Shekel bank account at exchange rate on the date of direct deposit do the following: send a fax to the US Embassy with your social security claim number, address, phone, bank number, branch number, Israeli shekel account number, and your signature. This is a free service at Bank Leumi and should be free at the other banks in Israel. (Note: there is a fee for direct deposit of dollars into your Israel bank dollar account).

Fax to the attention of Lorraine Fin, US Embassy Claims Representative, at 03-5165880. It should take approximately a month for the change.
