We've gotten really good feedback about the new message system we launched last week. There are a few bugs I want to work out, and some features you've suggested that I plan to incorporate, but things are coming along very nicely. There's a lot to do, and I thank you all for your patience during this transition period. 

Originally, we had thought to bundle real estate posts in with regular Janglo posts, but some of you told us that was causing too much clutter, and we agree. Real estate has been separated out again.

We are also very excited about our "jump to top" feature. From three days after your message is published, a link to "jump to top" will appear on your ads when you are logged in. Clicking that will update your ad to the current day, saving you from reposting the same message repeatedly. While we hope this tool will help us improve the entire user experience on Janglo, some of you have found this feature confusing, so we are slowing down our timeline for adaptation for that.

Janglo is proud to announce the launch of our new improved message system for Janglo messages. We've been testing the system on our Taanglo and real estate sections, and are excited to finally migrate over. 

Over the next few days, I'll be spending a lot of time clarifying and documenting the changes for everyone to understand. Its very simple though, and you may not even notice the difference. Here's some of the main things you need to know.

As always, you can post messages by sending an email to janglo@janglo.net (or taanglo@janglo.net for Taanglo messages), with the appropriate tags. You can also post directly on the site by pressing "post a message" and choosing your category.

When you post through the site directly, you now have the option to add pictures to your message, and to use HTML-style formatting to liven it up a bit. We also have a field that requires you to list your location. Messages without locations have long been among the most common complaints we've heard from you. 

You can also jump your ads to the top of the list, instead of reposting your message each time. From three days after your message is published, a link to "jump to top" will appear on your ads when you are logged in. Clicking that will update your ad to the current day, saving you from reposting the same message repeatedly. We hope this tool will help us minimize repeat posts on the site significantly.

The "jump to top" feature will also allow us to stop running SERVICES Sunday. From now on, you can post your services message ONCE on the site, and then keep re-jumping it every three days. That's greater exposure for you, with much less headache for anyone. 

Real estate categories are now mixed in with other categories. We hope this will help renters and seekers get more exposure for their posts.

Subscribers to the old Yahoo email system will likely be disappointed by the new system, as we move away from the email formats you may have gotten used to. We offer a variety of different options at emails.janglo.net, and we'll add even more options in the next few days.

We'll have much more to say about the new system in the coming period, and we have a number of upgrades and fixes already planned. We hope you like the changes.

Once again, we apologize for the double message problem on Janglo. We've decided that the best way to handle it is to launch the new message system we've been working on. Starting in the next day or two, we'll move the whole system over, with all of the advantages the new system provides. Tomorrow, we'll give you all the information you need to know.
