Uri Schneider M.A. CCC-SLP is a partner in Schneider Speech Pathology. Uri is recognized as a highly skilled clinician and an engaging educator; known for his broad range of professional experience, his passionate commitment to people and the profession, and his hallmark characteristics of creativity, sensitivity and positive spirit.

Uri specializes in stuttering, voice, learning and speech improvement; working with both children and adults. Uri also serves as an educational consultant for families and institutions seeking to individualize the learning experience and increase the success of each learner. Uri has presented at professional seminars and workshops nationwide and abroad; he has published articles on the topics of stuttering, learning and personal and professional communication; and he co-directed and co-produced “Transcending Stuttering: The Inside Story” and “Going with the Flow: A Guide to Transcending Stuttering”. Uri is an active member and contributor to local, national and international professional organizations (ASHA, Special Interest Divisions for Fluency and Voice, NSA, SFA, NYSSLHA, LISHA, NYC Voice Group, ISHLA and AMBI). Uri also serves on the Health Advisory Committee of Worldwide B’Above Headstart.

His latest projects include fostering online platforms for delivering services, self-help and professional development through social media and Skype, as well as developing and implementing a program to measure and increase academic achievement in post-high-school gap-year programs in Israel.

Uri received his BA in Linguistics and Communication Disorders and Business, and his MA in Speech-Language Pathology from Queens College, CUNY. He graduated Magna Cum Laude, and he was awarded the prestigious Mitsui USA Scholarship.

Uri’s past work experience includes diverse positions in corporate media training at Virgil Scudder & Associates, the New York City Department of Education, Lenox Hill hospital, the Summit School and as a private practitioner and consultant. He has worked with professionals in corporate and business sectors, as well as parents, children, teens and adults. He has helped people become skilled presenters, and he has helped people progress in the face of stuttering, voice problems, learning issues (including dyslexia, ADHD, language learning issues, Asperger’s Syndrome, Auditory Processing Disorder, etc.).

In addition to his professional achievements, Uri is an active member of the local and international Jewish community. He received rabbinical ordination at Beis Medrash L’Talmud. He is an active lay-leader in several organizations and projects; he is an Executive Board Members of the Union’s Young Leadership Cabinet Orthodox Union (OU), co-founder of KGHShuls (a broad-based community listserve of 3000+ members), and co-founder of Congregation Kehilas Ishei Yisrael, in addition to several other projects.

Uri enjoys mountain-biking, jumping-rope and spending time with his family (wife and four children).
