A Litte About Myself:

After finishing my studies in Interior Decoration and Design I made Aliyah in early 2009 from Melbourne Australia. My husband Jason is South African and we've been living in Jerusalem since we made Aliyah.

I have a passion for clever design and beautiful detailing. Australians are champions at lifestyle and beautiful design integration as this is what my Aussie heritage brings to my work.

Since making Aliyah I have been working in the industry where I have collected a vast list of the top suppliers around the country. This is very important to me and allows me to create the kind of Interiors that I know my clients expect and are used to from chutz laretz. Attention to detail is non-negotiable.

A Little about the process of designing:

We start with an initial meeting where I get a sense of what exactly it is that you want to do. Maybe it's a full gut and renovation of an apartment, maybe the apartment is built already and needs furnishing or some custom carpentry designs. Then I prepare a quote for the design work. Once the quote has been approved we begin the process which is usually a set of meetings, face to face or by phone to discuss layout and specific requirements of the space. Thereafter I begin the lighting and dropped ceilings, plumbing and electrical plans while simultaneously starting on the carpentry plans (kitchen bathrooms etc), tile plans, countertop and stone plans, glass and mirror plans and other systems plans that are required (ac, smart home, ducted vacuum). During all of this, we start the tile and sanitary fixtures specification process as well as lighting and furniture shopping. Then the plans are altered to make sure all systems fit in with each other. A great example of this is lighting details in custom carpentry, it must be documented on the lighting plan as well as the carpentry plans. We keep refining the plans until all systems align and then we send the plans out to quote with 'kablanim' or the general contractors. Once we get the quotes back we begin comparing and decide who to go with. I definitely don't always advise my clients to go for the less expensive option as I believe you get what you pay for but often its good to simply have a point of reference for cost comparison-as it keeps everyone honest! I have a handful of wonderful contractors who I work with and recommend. Using them often saves my clients tens of thousands of shekels and a lot of head and heart-ache. I recently had a situation where a trusted contractor of mine pointed out an issue that my client may run into if lifting up their bathroom tile which would have run into the 30k plus Nis mark should we have continued without hearing what he had to say. We had interviewed other contractors and no one else mentioned the issue. I am a firm believer that if you think it's expensive to hire a professional, try hiring an amateur- and this was a perfect example of that theory in practice. So once we begin building I come back to site approximately once a week or as needed to make spot checks and review the plans with the contractor to ensure they are being followed. Once the building is complete the kitchen is installed and the stone company comes to measure up for countertops. Simultaneously blinds or curtains go up and furniture is delivered. This is pretty much a small snapshot of the process!I hold your hand the entire time and walk you through from design to appliance selection down to accessories and art specification-if you require it!

looking forward to hearing from you!
