About the Role
The Michael Levin Base is seeking a dedicated and motivated Junior Army & Post-Service Advisor to support lone soldiers and bnot sherut throughout their journey—from pre-draft, through active service, and into post-service life in Israel.
This is a dynamic, people-focused role combining advising, problem-solving, and community engagement. The ideal candidate is organized, empathetic, and eager to learn, with a strong desire to support individuals navigating complex systems during a critical period of their lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a first point of contact for lone soldiers, bnot sherut, and their families
- Provide guidance on IDF processes, rights, benefits, and entitlements
- Assist with bureaucracy, including forms, applications, and coordination with relevant offices
- Support individuals in accessing resources such as counseling, financial guidance, and external aid
- Maintain ongoing communication via phone, email, Zoom, and in-person meetings
- Respond to parent inquiries and assist with occasional parent programming (e.g. webinars)
- Support post-service transitions, including guidance on government processes, higher education, and job applications in Israel
- Collaborate with military offices, government agencies, and partner organizations
Community Involvement
- Attend and support weekly Thursday night events and Friday morning breakfasts
- Participate in occasional Shabbat meals, base visits, and ceremonies
- Help foster a strong, supportive community environment
Administrative & Team Responsibilities
- Track and manage cases, ensuring proper follow-up and continuity
- Maintain organized records and documentation
- Attend weekly staff meetings and collaborate with team members
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to navigate and manage bureaucratic processes
- Emotional intelligence and a supportive, problem-solving mindset
- Availability for some evening and weekend programming
- IDF service experience - MUST
Preferred:
- Familiarity with lone soldier or national service frameworks
- Full Hebrew and English proficiency
- Former lone soldier
