Throughout the year Standing Together visits many IDF soldiers on active duty at an army base.
Standing Together volunteers surprise soldiers serving at checkpoints, at army bases and on Israel’s borders. Meanwhile we sit at home, sometimes not realizing that these heroes are constantly on high alert. The IDF soldiers, men and women between the ages of 18-22 respond to rocket attacks, terrorist attacks, stone throwing and Molotov cocktails targeting Israeli citizens.
It was a true privilege to give these wonderful IDF soldiers a show of appreciation and love along with cooling treats on hot summer days and warm soup and drinks when the temperature drops.
Throughout the year, Standing Together, a nonprofit organization dedicated to showing our soldiers how much we care and love them, visits thousands of soldiers. These visits are made with the fully loaded state of the art Standing Together Hospitality truck with is equipped with an oven, coffee machine, freezer, popcorn machine and waffle warmer. In addition it has a mobile cell phone charging station for those soldiers who might need it. Volunteers distribute treats to soldiers late at night and in far off locations in order to let the soldiers know they are not alone and forgotten. New programs and initiatives are constantly being implemented by Standing Together in order to serve more soldiers and first responders.
Standing Together truly stretches each donation dollar as they don’t have salaries or office space. The majority of their activities are run by volunteers.
Standing Together's $250,000 yearly budget goes to equipping and supplying the Standing Together Hospitality truck with treats for the soldiers.
