My 22 year old male friend (French national) was handcuffed, taken to a private room, and assaulted seriously by airport security behind closed doors. He was just walking toward the gate when he was pulled aside for no reason. His tefillin was desecrated and damaged. He was put in a jail cell overnight and he missed his flight. He ended up going to the hospital the next day for injuries. He said that the French government would do nothing in response so he didn't report it to them.
