TITLE: Grant Writer

LOCATION: Talpiot (Jerusalem), in office

POSITION: Full-time, Sunday - Thursday, 8 hours a day, starting in May

PANTRY PACKERS:

Pantry Packers maintains a packing plant in Jerusalem where visitors and tourists partner in its efforts by helping pack food staples in crates for needy Israeli households. Pantry Packers is the food distribution arm of Colel Chabad, the oldest continuously operating network of social services in Israel, established in 1788.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing the entire grant writing and application process.
  • Write grant applications, proposals, and reports and prepare supporting documents for foundations and funders according to their guidelines.
  • Research prospective funders to expand the existing donor base.
  • Manage relationships with grant funders and update CRM.
  • Call or email if more information is needed about the foundation.
  • Thank and provide information on how their support helped our organization.
  • Follow up on submissions if there’s no response or they’re rejected to see how we may be able to qualify in the future.
  • Create and manage a calendar of deadlines, re-application period, when to expect responses, confirm receipt, and follow-up.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mother tongue English (necessary), basic Hebrew (advantage).
  • Mid-level experience in grant writing, specifically in resource development.
  • Excellent writing, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with North American Jewish Federations, foundations, and grant opportunities.
  • Excellent at researching.
  • Strong work ethic, takes initiative, works independently, and can manage tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Hubspot, or other CRM (advantage).

SALARY:

Between 9,000 - 13,000 NIS/ month, commensurate with experience.
