Central Memorial Day ceremony for fallen Tel Aviv residents

Tuesday, April 13, 5:30 p.m. – Gan HaBanim, HaYarkon Park

Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality will hold its central Memorial Day ceremony to remember the fallen soldiers from Tel Aviv-Yafo. The ceremony will take place at Gan HaBanim at HaYarkon Park, attended by Tel Aviv-Yafo Mayor Ron Huldai, Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, Chair of Yad LeBanim Tel Aviv-Yafo Yosef Lutenberg and bereaved families.

Attendance is by invite only and in accordance with Green Pass regulations. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality's Facebook page.

Tuesday, April 13, 9 p.m. – Wohl Amphitheater, HaYarkon Park

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality's traditional "Songs in the Square" remembrance ceremony is by invitation only this year.

The ceremony will be broadcast live to residents on Channel 12 and the municipality's Facebook and YouTube pages.

The moving and unique musical ceremony will be attended by Tel Aviv-Yafo Mayor Ron Huldai and hosted by Lior Ashkenazi. Leading performers include Amir Dadon, Ester Rada, Danny Sanderson, Zahava Ben and Shuli Rand. Between songs, video clips will tell the stories of Israel's fallen soldiers.

Wednesday, April 14, 9 p.m., Daniel Rowing Center at HaYarkon Park

Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality and Daniel Rowing Center will hold a special "sail-in" rock concert starring legendary rockers Maor Cohen and Peter Roth.

Responding to challenges posed by COVID-19, the municipality and rowing center have embraced an innovative concert format. The performers will entertain a crowd sitting both on boats in the marina and on the nearby grass lawn.

Tickets are on sale to individuals aged over 18 and in possession of proof of vaccination or recovery.

This year, the Independence Day celebrations and music are arriving at our residents' homes across the city – bringing the party to their doorsteps.

Eight musical trucks – decorated in Israeli flags and playing celebratory music – will tour four areas of the city: north, city center, south and Jaffa. Exact routes available upon request.

Independence Day concerts for children: Municipality launches rapid COVID-19 testing

Thursday, April 15, 4:30 p.m. / Friday, April 16, 4:30 p.m., Wohl Amphitheater

For the first time since the coronavirus outbreak, Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality will hold performances for children, utilizing rapid COVID-19 testing.

Children can take a rapid test one hour prior to the concert and receive a result within 15 minutes. Children who have recovered from COVID-19 can present a Green Pass and enter the concert without a test. Tickets on sale here (Hebrew): https://bit.ly/3sb8Egd

Thursday, April 15, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., Gordon Beach

Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality will host celebratory Israeli dancing on the beachfront near Gordon Beach. Dancing will be led by an instructor and music will be provided by a singer and band.
