Position Overview: The role of the Web Scraper Developer primarily involves developing and maintaining web scraper applications. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and optimizing scraper applications using PHP, Node.js, Python, and MySQL. This role will involve gathering data from various websites and APIs using web scraping methodologies, and processing and storing the acquired data in our MySQL database.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain web scraper applications using PHP, Node.js, and Python.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and functionalities.
- Utilize web scraping techniques to gather and process data from various websites and APIs.
- Optimize and improve existing codebase for performance and scalability.
- Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development processes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with proficiency in PHP, Node.js, and Python.
- Strong understanding of web scraping techniques and tools such as BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, or Puppeteer.
- Experience working with a MySQL database.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively articulate technical concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
