Dr. Slavin's experience as a therapist includes more than 3 decades as Director of the Tufts University Counseling Center, overseeing counseling and psychotherapy for more than 25,000 clients and training for hundreds of mental health professionals.
Dr. Slavin served twice as the President of the Division of Psychoanalysis (39) of the American Psychological Association. He was the Founding President of the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis.
Dr. Slavin also serves as a Consulting Psychologist to the Ministry of Health, State of Israel, and the Israel Defence Forces. He has served most recently as Keynote Speaker, Israel Association for Psychotherapy; and as Visiting or Invited Lecturer at: the Tel-Aviv University School for Psychotherapy; the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute; Northwestern University School of Medicine; Istanbul Bilgi University; the University of Turin; Turin Italy Psychoanalytic Center; the North Florida Association for Dynamic Psychotherapy; Dr. Slavin is also Consulting psychologist, Ministry of Health, State of Israel and Mental Health Unit, Israel Defence Forces.
