About the Role
An innovative technology company is seeking a Product Specification Engineer to act as the bridge between business vision and technical execution.
This role owns the process of transforming ideas into clear, detailed specifications that development teams can build from. The successful candidate will lead discovery sessions, challenge assumptions, define workflows, and create the foundation for product development.
This is a highly collaborative role for someone who can confidently lead discussions with senior stakeholders, understand complex business needs, and translate ideas into structured product plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead product discovery and specification sessions with CEOs, operations teams, UX specialists, and technical stakeholders.
- Ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and drive conversations toward clear decisions.
- Create detailed product specifications covering workflows, business rules, priorities, and edge cases.
- Define user flows, interaction patterns, and overall UX direction.
- Create wireframes and process maps to clearly communicate product intent.
- Use AI-assisted tools during working sessions to accelerate planning and documentation.
- Work closely with architects and engineers to ensure specifications are clear, practical, and ready for development.
- Maintain the connection between business requirements and technical execution.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of software products and technology.
- Ability to understand APIs, databases, and system architecture at a high level.
- Experience creating detailed product specifications or similar technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of UX principles and user flows.
- Excellent business process mapping skills.
- Strong written and verbal English.
- Confident leading discussions with senior stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable making decisions.
This Role Is Not:
- A project manager managing tickets and standups.
- A developer writing code.
- A designer creating high-fidelity designs.
- A passive note-taker.
This role requires someone who can take ownership of complex discussions, create clarity from ambiguity, and ensure every product starts with a strong, well-defined foundation.
