Position Overview

M²: The Institute for Experiential Jewish Education is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Assistant Director of Finance and Operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Administration, the role will provide support for all operational and financial aspects of the organization, for both our Israeli חל"צ and our US 501(c)3. The position requires at least three-days per week in our Jerusalem Office.

As our Assistant Director of Finance and Operations, you are a self-starter, passionate person who thrives working in a rigorous, creative and fast-paced environment. You are proactive and resourceful and willing to perform all the tasks associated with being part of a growing team. You are comfortable managing small to large scale tasks and your attention to detail doesn’t inhibit your appreciation for seeing the bigger picture. You are detail oriented, have excellent interpersonal skills, highly attentive to even the most minute details, and interact easily with people from diverse backgrounds and sectors.

Job Responsibilities

Finance

· Assist the VP of Finance and Administration in all areas of financial management, payables and receivables, procurement, and financial reporting.

· Provide support for various projects throughout M² departments, specifically tracking of payments, invoicing, and contracts

· Provide support and management of organization-wide and project specific budgets and manage accurate reporting processes.

Operations

· Create and maintain excellent filing and tracking systems for agreements and MOUs between the organization and external vendors / personnel.

· Manage relationships with key vendors, including accounting and bookkeeping firms in Israel and the US.

· Develop and manage operational / technical systems and software’s to support all departments

· Support HR related tasks such as regular updates of organization wide policies, vacation and sick days and more.

Skills and Qualifications

As a prerequisite, you believe in the values of M² and be driven by its mission. You possess:

· Minimum 3 years proven experience with financial administration or operations.

· English as a mother tongue, spoken Hebrew a plus

· Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles

· Experience in budget management, customer service orientation and negotiation skills

· Experience in creating and managing agreements and contracts with vendors and clients

· Technical knowledge of online web-based type systems – such as Dropbox, Zoom, Google

· Proficiency in multiple software platforms, including MS office and Apple.

· Experience with accounting/financial systems a plus

· Superb communication skills both for internal and external communications

· Discretion and confidentiality

· Ability to manage, prioritize and follow through on a wide range of tasks

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and creative work environment

What M² offers

· Full time position with at least three days working from our Jerusalem office

· Salary range of 13,000-14,500 ILS/ month, commensurate with degree of position-specific experience and qualifications
