Job description and Responsibilities
Cleaners ensure that the spaces to which they are assigned remain tidy and orderly. School cleaners work in a variety of settings including classes, offices, the library, Toilets and outdoor playgrounds.
- Working according to schedule appointed by the administration.
- Be able to work flexible hours morning or evening.
- Cleaning classes, making sure the tables and chairs are clean at all times.
- Cleaning the administration offices.
- Cleaning the Library and teachers room.
- Sweeping, and mopping floors of various types.
- Helping teachers with cleaning upon request.
- Dusting ceilings, projectors, lights and shutters.
- Toilets: scrubbing and sanitizing toilets, sinks and kitchen fixtures.
- Emptying large and small trash in playground and classes.
- Washing and drying windows.
- Making sure the outdoor facility is clean (playgrounds, the benches and Canteen)
- Making sure the water drainages are clean.
- Liaising with the administration to ensure that you have sufficient cleaning products at all times.
- Reporting any breakages that occur during the cleaning process.
- Informing the administration of repairs that need to be done.
Cleaner Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is advantageous.
- Previous experience in cleaning.
- Able to use a variety of cleaning products and equipment.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Accept criticism and order.
- Have high manners, honest and trustworthy.
- Able to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
- Available to work mornings and evenings, plus holidays, as needed.
