Alteva RCM — IDR Department
Level: Senior Individual Contributor | Department: IDR Operations & Technology | Reports to: IDR Technology Lead / Product Leadership during team buildout
Location: Remote | Timezone: Overlap required with Israel and US Eastern (EST)
About the Role
Alteva RCM's IDR department is building its quality function from the ground up. This is the first dedicated QA hire on the team, and the person in this role will define how quality works here — not inherit a process someone else built.
You'll be embedded across a mix of Salesforce-native tools, AI-assisted workflows, and backend services — all actively in build. The work spans sandbox and production environments, .NET-based services, and AI-generated outputs where accuracy has direct revenue implications.
This is a hybrid manual and automation QA role. In the beginning, a meaningful part of the work will be hands-on manual testing, workflow validation, and release readiness checks while the automation framework is being built. Over time, the expectation is to convert repeatable testing into automated coverage so managers and operations leads are not carrying the burden of release testing.
The expectation is not just to find bugs. It is to build the systems that prevent them: test coverage, regression frameworks, automation runs, release gates, and clear release-readiness signals. This person should be trusted by both operations and development to say when something is ready to ship — and when it is not.
What You'll Do
- Own test strategy and test case development across the IDR product portfolio
- Design and maintain testing layers — smoke, happy path, regression, and release-readiness testing — mapped to release stages
- Set up and maintain automated test runs, including nightly checks where appropriate, to catch issues before business users do
- Build and maintain automation frameworks from scratch (no existing framework to inherit)
- Perform manual and automated testing across Salesforce sandbox environments, production validation workflows, .NET-based services, and AI tool outputs
- Own QA sign-off recommendations for releases, including clearly communicating release risk when coverage is incomplete.
- Own QA release-readiness recommendations and clearly communicate risks before releases
- Document end-to-end IDR workflows and map test coverage to them
- Define and enforce release gates in partnership with developers and the Tech Lead
- Work directly with ops team leads to understand how workflows break in practice, not just in theory
- Investigate production issues: identify root cause, document findings, and own the follow-through to prevent recurrence
- Mentor and provide technical direction to the QA Engineer on the team
- Contribute to building a proactive quality culture — bugs should be caught before ops ever sees them
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in QA engineering with demonstrated experience in both manual and automated testing
- Experience with API testing (REST/SOAP) -- the environment has multiple system integrations that will need coverage
- Proficiency in SQL for validating data accuracy across system integrations
- Comfortable with version control (Git) -- you'll be working alongside developers and managing test code
- Salesforce experience required — you need to be comfortable in sandbox and live environments on day one
- Strong background in building automation frameworks from scratch, not just maintaining existing ones
- Experience testing AI or ML outputs is a strong plus — understanding how to validate non-deterministic systems matters here
- Familiarity with .NET environments is a strong plus
- Ability to write clear, thorough test documentation that non-technical stakeholders can understand
- Strong communication skills — you'll interface directly with ops leads, developers, and product
- Background in healthcare RCM, medical billing, or IDR is a strong plus and will accelerate your ramp significantly
- Self-directed and comfortable operating without a playbook
Location & Availability
This is a remote role requiring time zone overlap with two teams: our ops team in Israel and our development team in the US (EST). You'll need a few hours of daily overlap with each. Eastern Europe time zones work well for this, though other locations will be considered if the overlap requirement is met.
Why This Role
You're not walking into a mature QA org. You're building one. That means more ownership, more visibility, and more direct impact than most QA roles offer. The IDR department handles dispute resolution at scale — when something breaks, it affects revenue. Your work matters immediately.
You'll work closely with the Head of Product and a small, focused technical team. This is a lean, high-ownership environment where decisions are made close to the work.
Tools & Environment
- Salesforce (core case management system)
- Azure (in use for AI tooling)
