The Opportunity:
This senior leadership role is responsible for building and scaling a high-impact fundraising strategy function that helps mission-driven nonprofits succeed today while strengthening their long-term capacity. The Director of Fundraising Strategy translates deep fundraising expertise into clear, repeatable, and human-centered guidance that empowers organizations to mobilize their communities, run stronger campaigns, and sustain their missions. This role reports directly to the CEO and carries real ownership over strategy, people, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a consultative, outcomes-driven fundraising strategy that balances immediate campaign performance with long-term organizational resilience
- Design and deliver structured, project-based fundraising engagements with clear goals, milestones, and accountability
- Partner with nonprofit leaders to diagnose complex fundraising challenges and develop practical, mission-aligned solutions
- Guide organizations in clarifying priorities, making strategic tradeoffs, and executing effectively, with a focus on peer-to-peer and ambassador-driven fundraising
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of fundraising strategists or coaches, setting clear standards and shared methodologies
- Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of ownership, learning, and excellence
- Develop and refine systems, tools, and frameworks that enable consistent, high-quality strategy delivery at scale
- Use data, feedback, and campaign outcomes to continuously improve fundraising approaches and measure impact
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in nonprofit fundraising, strategy, consulting, or professional services with a strong advisory or coaching orientation
- Provenability to problem-solve with clients in complex, ambiguous, or high-stakes situations
- Deep familiarity with peer-to-peer, ambassador-led, or community-based fundraising models
- Demonstrated experience building and leading teams with direct people management responsibility
- Strong comfort with data, systems, and operational tools (e.g., spreadsheets, CRMs, and planning frameworks)
- Ability to translate frontline insights into scalable processes, tools, and learning systems
- Cultural fluency with the Jewish nonprofit ecosystem and global Jewish communities
- Desire for a long-term leadership role with meaningful ownership and mission impact
