Facilitator Position
Woodmont College is looking to hire teachers to facilitate online courses in History. Candidates MUST possess an MA or PhD/EdD in History and have experience teaching at institutions of higher education. The position will require learning new tasks quickly. Candidates should be passionate about using technology in learning and be able to meet tight response times. Experience with learning management systems is a major plus.
The facilitator’s responsibility is to provide a presence in the online classroom through:
1. Quick turnaround for grading with comprehensive student feedback (48 hours)
2. Responding to emails from students within 24 hours, in a pleasant and friendly manner
3. Moderate discussion board, commenting on student posts (one in three)
4. Meet with students virtually if requested (2 hours a week limit)
5. Provide a 1-2 minute video recording as a welcome intro to the course
In addition, the facilitator will need to complete professional development requirements, meet with administrators when necessary, and be in touch with various departments, such as student services and the registrar, to ensure student success.
Qualifications:
· MA or PhD/EdD in History
· Strong technology skills
· Teaching experience
· Online teaching a plus
