Three years ago, a street doggie made its way to an army checkpoint. He was limping, with a badly injured rear leg. The soldiers brought the doggie to our clinic. (I am a volunteer at Tzar Baalei Chaim—the Jerusalem Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.)
Our highly skilled and caring veterinarians tried to save the doggie’s leg. But it was not to be. They had to amputate it.
After a period of recovery, we brought the doggie to our Shelter. We named it Oketz. Oketz (“sting”) is the name of the IDF’s Canine Corps.
Oketz was and remains an inspiration to everyone who is blessed to meet him. He is always upbeat. He runs and plays and is an enormous amount of fun. He has never bitten anyone.
Baruch Hashem about two years ago, a kindly man adopted Oketz. They developed a genuine bond, a truly loving relationship. Sadly, the owner now has cancer. He is receiving treatment but he is debilitated. He is unable to care for Oketz. He needs to return him to us. More than anything, WE DO NOT WANT OKETZ TO COME BACK TO THE SHELTER. We are desperately seeking a new home for Oketz.
Oketz is three years old. If you or anyone you know might be interested in bringing this very special, uplifting, inspiring doggie into your life, please call or WhatsApp Shoshi at +972 52-861-8654. Thank you very much!
