Finance Manager

Role Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the Group business. This role will support the Managing Director in overseeing financial reporting, compliance, budgeting and financial analysis to ensure sound financial management and strategic decision-making. The role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of the insurance broking industry and regulatory requirements.
Full time remote working, working standard UK hours - 9am to 5:30pm (Friday flexible hours to be agreed)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation of monthly management accounts, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with FCA regulatory requirements and internal financial controls, including adherence to CASS 5 rules.
- Credit control and insurer account reconciliations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and coordination with external auditors.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance against budget.
- Responsible for nominal ledger & expense control.
- Maintain and improve financial systems and processes (e.g. Acturis, accounting software).
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support business decisions.
- Support external payroll administration
- Assist the Managing Director with regulatory and board reporting requirements.
- Supervise junior finance staff and provide guidance where necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
- Experience in financial management within an insurance broking or financial services environment is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of UK regulatory requirements, including FCA rules and CASS 5 advantageous.
- Experience with Acturis or similar broking platforms is advantageous.
