MEDICAL HYPNOSIS FOR ENGLISH-SPEAKING ADULTS
I
am a medically qualified Hypnotherapist. In addition to my Medical
Degree, I have a Masters Degree in Pharmacology and I am licensed by
the Israel Department of Health to practice Hypnosis for therapeutic
purposes. I treat patients with hypnosis both in my own private
practice, and also as a physician attached to the Oncology Department
of Sha’are Zedek Hospital.
In
Israel, only medical doctors, dentists or psychologists are allowed
to practice hypnosis, and then, only if they have completed a
recognized course of study at an approved institution and passed an
examination attesting their fitness to practice.
Hypnosis
is a valuable tool which can provide relief and support to patients
suffering from a wide variety of medical, surgical and psychological
conditions, as an adjunct to any other treatment they may be
receiving. For example, it has been shown to be particularly
effective in the treatment of anxiety, stress and tension; inability
to relax; reactive depression; acute and chronic pain (burn pain,
back pain, cancer pain, arthritic pain, fibromyalgia, migraine);
dermatological conditions (eczema, psoriasis, warts);
gastrointestinal symptoms (irritable bowel syndrome, nausea and
vomiting associated with chemotherapy or pregnancy); allergies;
asthma; preparation for surgery, and enhancement of post-operative
recovery.
It
has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of weight loss,
smoking, insomnia, lack of confidence, and a variety of phobias.
