The TALMA Fellowship is actively searching for a rockstar educator to fill a last minute opening for our prestigious full-year teaching fellowship.
An initiative created by the founders of Birthright - Lynn Schusterman & Michael Steinhardt - TALMA brings teachers from around the world to Israel on a fully-funded 1-3 year placement that exposes teachers to the Israeli education system.
Fellows teach 4 days a week in an underserved school in one of our four living communities, receive a generous stipend, all-expenses-paid housing, and live alongside a peer group of fellow young professionals working in education.
Teachers serve in disadvantaged communities in Israel's social and geographic periphery, closing opportunity gaps, and bringing educational equity to deserving students.
This is an ideal opportunity for a young professional wishing to grow his or her experience in international education, test the waters for Aliyah, or reenergize a classroom career through new training and professional development within a supportive community.
Teachers are provided with a holistic support system and benefits that include:
- Job placement in the public education system teaching English four days a week with a generous monthly stipend
- All-expenses-paid housing (Either a private studio or one-bedroom accommodation with all utilities/fees covered) alongside a social peer group and community of fellow educators also transitioning
- A mentor teacher and professional development programming
- Once a week ulpan, or Hebrew immersion classes
- Social enrichment programming and opportunities to get involved in the local community through a host family, volunteer experiences, etc.
- Health coverage for non-citizens
