Position Overview:

M² is seeking to hire an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager who excels in written communication, social media management, and collaboration. The Marketing and Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in spearheading M²'s digital marketing efforts, working closely with internal teams to ensure brand consistency and alignment with organizational goals and programmatic nuances. With a primary focus on social media and email marketing, website content development, and project management, the ideal candidate will be responsible for driving engagement and expanding M²'s presence across digital platforms. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to promoting experiential Jewish education worldwide.


Key Responsibilities:

Digital Content Creation and Management (70%)

Implement and expand on M²'s digital engagement strategy, encompassing content creation,

promotion, and audience growth across social media platforms and email channels. With an existing presence on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, the Marketing and Communications Manager will creatively and effectively grow M²’s following and engagement on these platforms, and develop a plan to expand into other relevant channels to further enhance M² ’s presence and reach. Additionally, the Marketing and Communications Manager will drive the development and maintenance of impactful content for multiple M² websites.

  • Utilize social media expertise to grow M²’s social media presence and exposure
  • Develop creative content for various marketing channels, including social media posts, blog articles, email newsletters, and more employing storytelling techniques to captivate audiences. Hold responsibility for posting and promoting content
  • Grow M²’s reach by creating, maintaining and expanding distribution lists
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of multiple M² websites, through writing compelling copy, monitoring analytics, and collaborating with web developers for implementation.

Marketing Management Support (30%)

Oversee the organization and accessibility of digital assets, manage marketing-related vendors, streamline workflow processes to support marketing objectives effectively, and occasionally support marketing efforts, ensuring seamless execution of projects.

  • Manage filing and archiving system for all digital assets, including photos, videos, and graphic design materials
  • Manage marketing-related vendors such as photographers, videographers, web developers, including identifying, pricing, contracting, invoicing, etc.
  • Manage print and swag productions for marketing and program needs
  • Occasional coordinating of marketing efforts for events, such as seminars, conferences, webinars & workshops, including managing print projects, design of space, and staffing seminars.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
  • Exceptional English writing skills, with a talent for storytelling and crafting impactful marketing content
  • Proficient in social media management, particularly Instagram and Facebook; prior experience as a social media manager is a plus
  • Ability to analyze marketing data and metrics to inform decision-making and optimize campaign performance
  • Strong collaborative skills, able to work effectively with colleagues across various departments
  • Flexible and adaptable, capable of thriving in dynamic and evolving environments. Proficient in project management, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively, and meeting deadlines within a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable adapting to new technologies, with experience in Salesforce, Monday.com, Canva, WordPress, and Campaign Monitor preferred
  • Familiarity with Jewish educational programs, Jewish philanthropy, and the North American Jewish community is advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field
