Backend Developer (Python / FastAPI / AWS) - Remote (Within Israel)
About the Role
We’re looking for a talented Backend Developer to join a focused engineering team building the backend of a modern enterprise-grade B2B SaaS platform. You'll be working alongside frontend and backend teammates to deliver high-quality, production-ready APIs and backend services using Python (FastAPI) and AWS cloud technologies.
This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone who enjoys backend architecture, writing clean APIs, and collaborating within a full-stack product team to solve meaningful problems.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI
- Design scalable, maintainable backend systems that support core SaaS application functionality
- Collaborate with frontend developers and product stakeholders to shape features and data models
- Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews to ensure engineering excellence
- Deploy and operate backend services using AWS tools like Lambda, ECS, S3, and related resources
- Monitor and improve system performance, availability, and maintainability
Key Technologies
- Backend: Python, FastAPI, REST
- Cloud: AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, API Gateway, IAM)
- Databases: PostgreSQL
- Tooling: Docker, Terraform (nice to have)
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in backend software development using Python
- Solid understanding of REST API development and backend architecture
- Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native application development
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, Git, and containerized development (e.g., Docker)
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset
Nice to Have
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
- Familiarity with API versioning, auth flows, and backend security best practices
- Prior work on enterprise or SaaS products at scale
