About Wham Studio
Wham Studio is a fractional product development consultancy specializing in consumer electronics, IoT, and connected devices. Since 2012, we have guided brands through the full product lifecycle from concept and factory sourcing to tradeshow launch. We operate at the intersection of deep Far East factory relationships, hands-on engineering know-how, and strategic business thinking.
The Role
We are looking for a sharp, organized, and proactive Associate to support the Managing Director across client engagements. This is a hands-on role at a boutique consultancy, meaning you will be involved in real work from day one — coordinating projects, liaising with overseas factories, preparing client documents, and helping keep complex programs on track. If you thrive in fast-moving environments, love crossing time zones, and want to learn the product development business from the inside out, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
• Manage project timelines, task lists, and status trackers across multiple simultaneous client engagements.
• Coordinate internal and client-facing communications, preparing agendas, meeting notes, and follow-up action items.
• Maintain and update project boards (Monday.com) and keep all stakeholders aligned on milestones and deliverables.
• Support tradeshow planning and logistics, including CES and other industry events.
• Draft status reports, memos, and client-facing documents under MD supervision.
Factory Sourcing & Liaison
• Support factory identification, RFQ preparation, and vendor comparison for consumer electronics programs.
• Coordinate with overseas suppliers (primarily China-based) on sample requests, production timelines, and quality checkpoints.
• Track open issues with factory partners; pricing, tooling, lead times, certifications and escalate as needed.
• Assist in reviewing factory documents, quotes, and compliance materials, including Chinese-language content where relevant.
• Help prepare factory visit reports, vendor assessments, and QC checklists.
What We're Looking For
Required
• Exceptional written and verbal communication in English — you will represent Wham Studio with clients and partners.
• High organizational skills with an eye for detail; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency with project management tools (Monday.com, Asana, or similar), Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
• A genuine interest in consumer electronics, hardware, or IoT products.
• Proactive, self-starter mindset — you don't wait to be told what to do next.
Nice to Have
• Prior exposure to hardware product development, supply chain, or manufacturing (internships, coursework, or personal projects count).
• Familiarity with Chinese business culture or experience working with overseas suppliers.
• Comfort with AI productivity tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for research and document drafting.
What You'll Get
• Direct mentorship from a Managing Director with 14+ years in consumer electronics and Far East manufacturing.
• Exposure to a wide range of clients, products, and international business environments.
• A lean, high-trust working environment where your contributions are visible and valued from day one.
• Room to grow this role is designed as a launchpad into a senior associate or PM track.
