Part-Time Nonprofit Attorney (501(c)(3) Specialist)
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced part-time attorney with expertise in 501(c)(3) nonprofit law. The ideal candidate will advise on compliance, governance, contracts, IRS regulations, and state nonprofit laws to support our organization's legal and operational integrity.
Provide legal guidance on 501(c)(3) compliance and best practices
Draft and review bylaws, board policies, and governance documents
Advise on charitable solicitation laws and state registrations
Review contracts, MOUs, and partnership agreements
Support board with legal insights on fiduciary duties and risk management
Ensure adherence to IRS regulations and filings
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in [insert state]
Minimum 3 years’ experience with nonprofit organizations
Deep understanding of 501(c)(3) tax-exempt law and compliance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
