GreenPoint NFP is seeking an experienced Grant Researcher/Writer to identify and assess grant funding sources and to build and maintain a comprehensive library of grant funder information for our clients, not-for-profit organizations in the US. A central part of this role is developing and maintaining our existing database of funders, so strong research and database-building skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess prospective grant funding sources, evaluating each funder's eligibility, priorities, and funding likelihood for our clients
- Develop, maintain, and continually expand our existing library/database of grant funder information — including deadlines, priorities, contacts, giving history, and application requirements
- Track funder guidelines and reporting timelines, keeping all records current, accurate, and well-organized
- Prepare and support grant proposals informed by your funder research
Requirements
- 3+ years of substantive US grant research and writing experience
- Proven ability to identify, research, and assess grant funding sources for fit and funding likelihood
- Strong database-building and data-management skills, including developing and maintaining funder/donor databases or CRMs (e.g., spreadsheets, Salesforce, or grant-management software)
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational and research skills
- Academic degree from the US and exceptional writing skills
- Experience with not-for-profit organizations, a plus
- Experience in legal or financial services, a plus
