Organizational Context:
These jobs are found in Headquarters (HQ), Regional Bureaux (RBs) and Country Offices (COs) and Area/Field Offices. Job holders report to a Logistics Officer, Head of Unit or the designate.
At this level, job holders have independent responsibility for technical, specialized work including planning, organization and coordination and setting objectives for all assistance modalities for both WFP and logistics common services. They deal with issues that are often undefined and involve areas of uncertainty and complex inter-relationships. The instructions received are broad and the job holders consistently demonstrate a high degree of responsibility and initiative to independently manage activities and respond to queries. Job holders are expected to motivate and develop a team of support staff and/or are responsible for specialized support service(s) where the work is undertaken with the help of specially designed techniques, methods and processes.
Job Purpose:
To provide a range of specialized support functions and/or lead a team performing standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE:
• Experience coordinating with transportation providers and third parties.
• Experience leading a team of national staff.
• Experience assisting in project management.
• Experience in preparing and managing budgets.
Experience:
At least 7 years of relevant experience in Logistics and Supply Chain.
Education:
A post-secondary school certificate, Bachelor’s degree is preferable in related function area.
Language:
Excellent written and oral communication skills in Hebrew and English, knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
Special conditions:
Transportation from-to Ashdod is not provided and will be the candidate's responsibility.
Working hours; 08:00- 15:30 while flexibility on working hours is required and under certain conditions may start from 05:00-13:30 or differently
Fixed Term positions:
Staff hired on Fixed Term Contract are members of the Organization are international civil servants. By accepting appointment, they pledge themselves to discharge their functions and to regulate their conduct with the interests of the World Food Programme under the Food and Agriculture Organization rules and regulation.

Remuneration (Monthly): As per FT Salary scale
Renewal of contract: Subject to WFP needs, staff performance and the availability of funds
Annual leave: 2.5 days per month
Sick Leave: 2 Days per month
Taxes: Remuneration under FT is exempt from national or local taxation
Eligibility to apply: National resident or having a valid visa/ permit to live and to work in Palestine
Dependency Allowances: Applicable to children up to 18 years of age or up to 21 years if in full-time school attendance.
Pension Fund: A deduction of 7.9% from the pensionable remuneration will be made from your net salary, with WFP contributing 15.8%.
Medical Insurance: Mandatory for staff members, with the option to extend coverage to dependents on a cost-sharing basis.
