Jerusalem Continues to Assist Its Elderly Residents

The municipality of Jerusalem will distribute approximately 5,100 additional food portions to  elderly residents on Tuesday so that they do not leave the house.
Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon: "Taking care of senior citizens and families with a special needs child is a top priority. This is an opportunity to say thank you to the hundreds of volunteers who donated to help - a heart-warming donation.

The assistance to senior citizens is comprehensive and includes three key response areas: providing food and administrative assistance through volunteers, expanding the opportunities for culture and leisure in homes through advanced technology, and emotional and mental healh support when needed.
The Jerusalem Municipality, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs, will continue tomorrow (Tuesday, March 24) the operation to distribute thousands of packaged meals to city residents who cannot leave their home or should not leave their homes as it could endanger their health.

The division will be done in all sectors and all neighborhoods.
In the last week, a community administration in the Jerusalem Municipality mapped out the veteran and adult residents who are interested in receiving these portions.

It should be noted that at the same time, the municipality continues to phone tens of thousands of veterans in the city through employees and volunteers to see if they need any assistance.

The Jerusalem Municipality has announced that the distribution will take place three times a week and will include enough portions for a full week- on Sunday and Tuesday the number of servings is for two days, and Thursday for three days.
