Jerusalem has a number of street lending libraries around town, with more being added. Here is some info about this wonderful community initiative.
The Street Libraries Project is a community initiative initiated by active Jerusalemites in cooperation with the Jerusalem Municipality, the Eden Company, the Bezalel Academy of Art and the Community Councils.
Libraries are located in the public space in different places; Parks, public parks, and more.
Users can borrow/take books and donate books for other users, they form the basis for creating a community based on mutual trust and giving.
And of course, the facilities are open 24 hours a day. In addition, there are various community events in the spaces of the street libraries, such as story hours for children, literary and musical events, and more.
Want to Bring books to the library? Excellent! Please arrange them on the shelves and help us maintain order and cleanliness in the library.
Please donate Books and novels, children's books and reference books in good condition only
Please do NOT bring Encyclopedias, dictionaries, travel guides, newspapers, magazines and holy books. Torn books, magazines, and newspapers can be thrown in the nearest paper recycling container
