Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of datasets for import to the database system of Yad Vashem:
- Initial dataset analysis
- Customization of the conversion process based on the specific source data
- Dataset cleaning, extraction, transformation, normalization
- Performing tests before and after dataset imports
- Documentation
2. Developing and testing new strategies and tools for dataset conversion, and data extraction for the informational systems in Yad Vashem
Job requirements:
- A degree in Computer Science,
Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one
scripting/programming language used for data analysis (e.g. Python)
- Full control MS Access and MS
Excel (VBA, DDL, functions, macros)
- Familiarity with NLP, ML
- Familiarity with information
extraction from unstructured texts
- Experience with Linux
environment - Advantage
- Background or interest in
history, archival science - Advantage
- English at a very high level
