“The police will continue to respond as necessary to ensure a smooth Election Day,” the police said in a statement.
The Israel Police deployed 18,000 officers throughout the country on Tuesday to work alongside thousands of polling station inspectors.
“The police will continue to respond as necessary to ensure a smooth Election Day,” the service said in a statement.
The police called on the public not to respond to fake news and rather to only act based on official police statements.
The operation will continue until the last polling stations close at 10 p.m., the statement added, in order to prevent illegal voting activity.
