Overview

Electrical project manager specializing in high-risk, technically demanding projects from execution

through closeout. Brings eight years of experience coordinating with engineers, field teams, and

contractors to deliver compliant, well-controlled electrical systems across commercial, industrial, and

municipal infrastructure.

EXPERIENCE

OCTOBER 2022 – PRESENT

PROJECT MANAGER / SERVICE & PROJECT RECOVERY LEAD, HYPOWER

Major Projects & Design-Build Delivery

$55M MSC Cruise Terminal – Largest Cruise Terminal in North America

● Directed electrical scope of work for a landmark cruise terminal project involving

high-complexity systems such as ETC digital lighting controls, VESDA, BDA, Access Control,

Lightning Protection, telecommunications, and CBP-classified high-security systems.

● Oversaw full project lifecycle including procurement strategy, contract buyout, logistics

planning, permitting, inspections, commissioning, and closeout.

● Managed all project documentation including T&M tickets, RFIs, submittals, PCOs,

closeout logs, punch lists, permits, schedules, and submittal approvals using Procore.

● Led weekly coordination with subcontractors and vendors; monitored cost forecasts,

tracked schedule milestones, and supported executive reporting and owner

communications.

● Collaborated directly with Engineers of Record (EORs) to verify feeder sizing, conductor

types, overcurrent protection, breaker ratings, equipment ampacity, fault ratings, and

coordination requirements prior to procurement and installation.

● Maintained project records, document control logs, and ensured contract compliance

while managing change order workflows and rental equipment utilization.

Service Department Turnaround & Project Recovery

Key responsibilities and outcomes:

● Assumed control of abandoned projects, identified scope gaps, reconstructed project

history, and drove final inspections, documentation, and closeout.

● Repaired and rebuilt relationships with major general contractors through consistent

communication, technical credibility, and fair negotiation.

● Led closeout efforts on projects where Hypower faced significant financial and

reputational risk.

Representative Recovery Projects:

Homestead Air Reserve Base – Hangar 200 ($1.2M)

● Managed training and commissioning scheduling for electrical equipment and lighting control systems.

● Led as-built documentation creation and submission.

● Coordinated UL lightning protection inspection with special classifications under AFI-1032 and NFPA-780 for antennas and communications.

● Oversaw low-voltage insulation testing, feeder and transformer testing, grounding performance verification, and documentation.

● Successfully restored working relationship with HITT Contracting after prior breakdowns. Seminole Trails Elementary School – Palm Beach County

● Entered a highly distressed project with 2+ year-old unresolved change orders, broken GC relations, and partial walk-off conditions.

● Negotiated legacy change orders and financial exposure with Lebolo Construction in a highly adversarial environment.

● Planned and executed final scope: DMX lighting installation and programming (Elation fixtures, Acclaim controller) in cafeteria and stage areas.

● Coordinated school board training, electrician badging, holiday-only work windows, and strict site cleanliness requirements.

● Closed project financially through negotiation to minimize losses and avoid mutual back-charges.

Tropical Chevrolet – Claims Mitigation & Margin Protection

● Investigated multiple damage claims where other contractors impacted installed electrical work and attempted to shift liability to Hypower.

● Located archived correspondence and documentation proving damage occurred outside Hypower’s scope and control.

● Successfully resolved claims without cost to Hypower, preventing unnecessary rework and financial loss.

● Identified and resolved a scope gap where the GC assumed certain lighting fixtures were included in the original contract, despite no formal agreement by prior management. ● Clearly documented the scope discrepancy, presented historical evidence, and negotiated approval to submit a valid change order for additional fixtures.

● Supported planning and budgeting for the upcoming car wash electrical scope, positioning the project for improved profit margin under clear scope definition and phased execution. Millennium Tower – Brickell, FL

● Took over closeout of a delayed commercial high-rise with $500K retention at risk. ● Resolved lighting controls dispute involving daylight harvesting sequences, zoning conflicts, and Lutron architectural documentation.

● Authored a critical RFI clarifying sequence-of-operations language, resulting in engineer approval with no additional scope.

● Closed all punch list items and achieved final project closeout.

2

Audi / Lamborghini South Dealership

● Completed remaining lighting control scope including sensor installation and programming.

● Led persistent owner negotiations to secure final retention payment.

Additional Contributions

● Resolved expired permits with the City of Miami by reconstructing scopes and driving final inspections on unfamiliar legacy work.

● Assisted in transitioning Tropical Chevrolet into a new active construction phase, preparing to assume full PM responsibility (budgeting, phase codes, takeoffs, scheduling). ● Supported business development by attending industry conventions, representing Hypower, strengthening client relationships, and helping generate service and construction leads.
