Israel strikes underground Hamas site in Gaza in response to rocket attack

Israeli aircraft on Tuesday struck an underground site in the Gaza Strip belonging to Hamas, after terrorist groups fired a rocket into Israeli territory, the Israeli military said in a statement.

The rocket was intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome air-defense system, causing no damage or casualties.

“IDF fighter jets and a combat helicopter attacked underground infrastructure in the southern Gaza Strip belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization. The attack was carried out in response to a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory earlier this evening,” the statement said.
