ANAT GIHON - BODY ORIENTED PSYCHOTHERAPIST
With close to 40 years of clinical expertise, I specialize in guiding individuals through life changes, relationship challenges, issues concerned assertiveness and aggression, and self-identity concerns. My practice embraces diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering a safe and supportive space for exploration.
In therapy, I employ an integrative approach, combining conversation with mindfulness of mental processes and physical sensations. What sets my work apart is the incorporation of body and emotional expression, tailored to each patient's needs. I focus on understanding the patient's lifelong adaptive strategies and their manifestation in emotional, physical, mental, and behavioral dimensions. This exploration facilitates the removal of emotional blocks, unlocking vitality, strengths, and passions, leading to enhanced self-confidence and meaningful connections.
My experience include prominent mental health institutions in Israel and a substance abuse center in the United States, where I got my Master degree in Expressive Therapy (Cambridge, Mass), and certification in Bioenergetic Analysis in New York.
I currently operate a private practice in Ramat Aviv, Abu-Gosh (near Mevaseret – Zion) and Gedera, working with individuals, couples, and groups, including young adults.
In addition to my clinical practice, I have more than 30 years of teaching and supervisory experience, specializing in Body-oriented Psychotherapy and Bioenergetic Analysis. I've taught and contributed to academic institutions in Israel and abroad, currently serving as the head of the training program at the Israeli Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis and part of the teaching faculty at the International Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis since 2013.
